NATC 2025 Phoenix

I am so excited to share my love of Taiko and the music of Matsuyama, specifically Iyono Kuni Suigun Daiko music by Hatanaka Kenzo. I learned about the power of traditional Japanese Taiko from Esther Vandecar, who lived in Matsuyama and Hiroshima for 7 years and studied extensively while there. I was one of her first students and have traveled to Japan 9 times over a 25 year period of time, always adding Matsuyama or Hiroshima to my visits and studies.
The relationships I have built with the home dojos in Matsuyama and Hiroshima mean the world to me and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the North American Taiko Community.
