About me
Lucas Muraguchi (he/him) started playing Taiko in Brazil in 2003. He won 9 Brazilian Taiko championships as player, composer or coach, leading a team to compete at the 9th Junior Taiko Contest in Kyoto.
Lucas has led Taiko workshops in Brazil, Japan, Argentina and USA, including in the World Taiko Gathering in Los Angeles and ECTC in Providence. He was also the South American representative in the World Taiko Conference.
Lucas also produces workshop tours in Brazil with japanese sensei, wrote Taiko themed stories and a festival winner short film about Odaiko called Meu Maior Tambor. For his story, he was chosen to be one of the Olympic Torch bearer for RIO-2016.
In partnership with his fiancée, Cindy Muniz, their life goal is to bring the Taiko world closer and closer, and from those connections we will harvest Taiko magic.
