About me
Emma Valentine (she/her) is a queer Korean adoptee from Seoul, South Korea and raised in Minnesota in the Twin Cities area. She has a B.A. in Theater from the University of MN and has worked in various theater roles such as stage manager, lighting director, actor, playwright, director, board operator, etc. Working with Mu Performing Arts was her entry into taiko after stage managing a Mu Daiko show in 2008. She started classes and interned with them and became a full member in 2015 and started teaching taiko in 2016. Since relocating to San Jose, CA she's worked with San Jose Taiko as a stage manager and touring lighting director, and has stage managed for other local taiko events/performances. She was also brought back to MN in 2020 as the Project Coordinator for TaikoArts Midwest's groundbreaking HERBeat concert.
