About me
Adam Weiner (he/him) has been playing taiko for over 30 years. He spent the first 25 years with San Jose Taiko, where he performed, toured, and taught with the group, as well as having composed several of their pieces. In his taiko career, he has taught workshops to both collegiate and community groups, several workshops at Asano Taiko U.S., and at various events, such as at North American Taiko Conferences, Collegiate Taiko Invitational, the World Taiko Gathering, and the 2024 Scottish Taiko Festival.
Since becoming an independent taiko artist, not only has Adam taught workshops and written compositions for other taiko groups, he also created the YouTube channel “Tic Tac Taiko” in 2020 where there are now over 170 videos on taiko technique, musicality, improvisation, teaching, and more to help the taiko community worldwide!
In addition, Adam brings over 25 years of martial arts training and teaching into his taiko practice, plus a great passion for improvisation and creativity to his art! He is also the Program Manager for the North American Taiko Taikai.
