About me
Hello everyone! Gavino here! This year I am celebrating 27 years of playing taiko! I began playing taiko with Kaminari Taiko of Houston. I eventually moved to the SF Bay Area and trained with Seiichi Tanaka Sensei and SFTD. At the 2011 NATC/Stanford, I took the intensive workshop on taiko building, taught by Toshi Kato. In 2015, I moved to Ojai, CA and founded my group, Ojai O’Daiko. All the drums in our group I built myself. I love to talk about building and sharing my experiences as well as my many mistakes. 😁
