Now is the time to learn the shamisen! This hands-on workshop is for all levels. Participants who have never picked up a shamisen before will start from the very beginning by learning the basics (holding, striking strings, etc), and by the end of the class, will be able to play two Minyo classics, Soran Bushi and Kokiriko Bushi! Those with prior experience will enjoy technique refinement and advanced techniques (if desired)! Whether you've been interested in shamisen as a solo instrument or as a new addition to your taiko ensemble, come join us in enjoying the three flavorful strings!

Prerequisite/What to bring: No prior experience nor personal equipment necessary (although welcome to use if available)

Please note that there is a lunch from 12:30-2:30pm. This class counts towards 8 hours of instruction.
