A Little About Exadon
Exadon is an innovative taiko program with two main purposes: health promotion and preventive healthcare through the art of
Japanese taiko drumming." Since 2014, the program has strived to help people develop “healthy habits of mind and body” and increase their well-being through enjoying taiko (traditional Japanese drums), performing arts, and physical activity.
Under the supervision of Dr. Yoshinori Morimoto (Mental health physician), and led by Kodo's workshop instructors, the program has been growing steadily, bringing participants the benefits of taiko drumming.
The name Exadon combines three meaningful elements: “exercise”, “Sado” (an island in the Sea of Japan), and the sound of beating a taiko drum, “don”.
Since the Exadon Facilitator Training Program was launched in 2022, trained facilitators have been holding workshops in both Japan and overseas. This year, Masami Miyazaki (Kodo member and workshop instructor) will be conducting Exadon workshops at NATC for the first time!
